Welcome to the Yolo Prostate Cancer Support Group.
We’re here to help each other.
The Yolo Prostate Cancer Support Group invites men, their spouses and family members to meet with prostate cancer survivors to learn about treatment options. Participants benefit from candid discussions about experiences with disease management and progression, imaging studies, medical and surgical procedures, recovery, and side effects. Attendance and informative handout materials, as available, are free of charge.

FUNDING: We do not assess dues, nor do we charge for admission to our meetings. This website and our periodic publications are funded through generous donations from individual Yolo Prostate Cancer Support Group participants, to whom we extend our gratitude.
We are grateful to the Woodland Community and Senior Center and to the Yolo County Library for letting us hold our meetings in their facilities in the past, and we look forward to eventual resumption of in-person meetings when public health protocols enable us to do so.
Attend the Fourth Annual
Patient Conference on Prostate Cancer
presented by the California Prostate Cancer Coalition (CPCC) and UCSF
Saturday, March 9
One person from our group can attend at no cost. Gil Walker has announced that first person who agrees to attend and then summarize the conference proceedings at the Yolo Prostate Cancer Support Group’s March 11 or April 8 meeting will be reimbursed for the cost of attending the conference.
The conference fee is $50 for in-person attendance or $25 for online (video conference) participation. The reimbursement will be funded by donations that people made to YPCSG in memory of Harold Honeyfield. Contact Gil if you’re interested in serving as our group’s conference correspondent.

The YOLO PROSTATE CANCER SUPPORT GROUP, established in Yolo County, California, in March 2006, welcomes men who have been diagnosed with prostate cancer, have recurrent disease, or have an interest or expertise in the topic. We serve residents of Davis, Woodland, Winters, West Sacramento, Dixon, Esparto and other communities in Yolo, Sacramento and Solano counties.
Many of our meetings include presentations by experts. Our guest speakers have included urologists, oncologists, radiation therapists, medical research scientists and other practitioners. We also schedule roundtable discussions to enable men who are recently diagnosed or merely curious to learn from the experiences of men who have been treated for prostate cancer or are being monitored through watchful waiting.
The Yolo Prostate Cancer Support Group, founded by the late Harold Honeyfield of Davis, is a community service organization operated by unpaid volunteers.
